Dutch police arrest man after woman taken hostage
Local media report knife-wielding man took woman prisoner at radio station near Amsterdam
A woman who was taken hostage by a knife-wielding man outside a Dutch radio station has been freed in a police operation, local media reported on Thursday morning.
The incident took place in Hilversum, a municipality southeast of the Dutch capital, Amsterdam.
A man reportedly threatened a woman in the parking lot of the station building with a knife before forcing her inside the premises, police told local media.
Images shared on social media showed police vehicles and ambulances at the scene, with the radio station cordoned off.
RTL News reported a knife had been found at the scene. However, later reports claimed the hostage situation had ended, with police arresting one male.
